Morning Visualization
Recently I felt guided to start this visualization or prayer (however you like to call it) first thing in the morning:
First, visualize yourself waking up to this world as a dreamer, becoming aware that this is an illusion that you are temporarily dreaming. Then either say to yourself or visualize the following as sincerely as you can:
I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him Who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or
what to do, because He Who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing
He goes there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.(T-2.V(A).18:2-6)
The "Him" and "He" refers to the Holy Spirit which abides within us, i.e. the part of our mind which still remembers God. A Course in Miracles tells us that our illusory lives here are already scripted and our only free choice is to choose between right-mindedness or wrong-mindedness. Being in our right mind means to listen to the Holy Spirit, the right part of our mind which will bring us home. Listening to the ego (wrong mind) will only keep us trapped in this illusion.
After practicing this prayer for a week, two wonderful things seemingly happened to my life. Firstly, my wife got her citizenship approved after 2 long years of wait. Two days later, we went to a hotel and got upgraded to the Presidential Suite which costs 10 times more than what I have originally paid for. Although this is not why we should practice forgiveness, it certainly has its fringe benefits -- the switch to a happier dream.
Above all, it is the liberation and all-empowering knowing that the Holy Spirit will guide us throughout the day and that He is always there with us. Even though this is metaphorical, as in the Holy Spirit is really the right-minded part of our mind and never actually left us, it is most reassuring to repeat this prayer daily or whenever necessary and remind ourselves that we are taken care of and guided in this insane world.
Remember that this visualization/prayer can also be used whenever we are stuck or needed help. I certainly felt a sense of peace and calmness myself each time after reciting the lines.
